Special Arrangement affecting trade of textiles and clothing |
Countries are aggressively seeking bilateral and regional alignments for increasing
trade. These arrangements and agreements have a common objective – trade liberalization,
both trough tariff reductions and elimination of non-tariff barriers (NTBs). |

These agreements when implemented not only influence trading patterns and practices
these result in realigning investment trends.
The phenomenon thus has a multipronged
effect. Regional and bilateral exchange of preferences, therefore, has an important
role as these supplement the efforts through the multilateral trading system for
global integration.
